Lobo was formed in June 2004 and placed orders for production equipment in August 2004. In October, an affiliate of Lobo bought the building, and by late December, the company was ready for operation.

Lobo’s first shipment was sent out on January 9, 2005. Just one year later Lobo was producing more than 3.5 million tortillas a day with products distributed in 33 states.
